Channel 5 has sent us first trailer for their new six part thriller mini TV series THE FEUD which will star airing Monday April 14th. THE FEUD introduces Emma and John Barnett(Jill Halfpenny and Rupert Penry-Jones) who, along with their teenage daughter Beth (Megan Trower), appear to live an idyllic life on Shelbury Drive. They’re close friends with their

neighbours, Sonia and Alan (Amy Nuttall and Ray Fearon) and despite their foibles, are also fond of older couple, Derek and Barbara (James Fleet and Tessa Peake-Jones). The close friendships in this seemingly peaceful street prove to be not quite as harmonious as they seem. When Emma and John decide to add a kitchen extension to their house, things quickly start to spin drastically out of control. As objections to the plans are raised, unexpected skeletons and life-threatening secrets begin to rise to the surface. Laced with menace, The Feud reveals how Emma’s aspirational dream turns sharply into obsession, paranoia, and fear. One decision sets in motion events that have unforeseeable consequences for both her and the people living on her street. New series will air on CW over in USA

in UK as their first ever drama series. It has also been sold to Scandinavia and to SBS in Australia.  Check out the trailer below.

 

  THE STORY

David Thewlis stars as Sherlock Holmes who is put out of his comfort zone, mysteriously unable to investigate a sinister case without risking the lives of his closest friends. Enter: young American Amelia (Blu Hunt). After her mother’s mysterious murder, she learns her missing father may be the legendary detective. Despite wildly different backgrounds and attitudes, the pair must work together to solve a global conspiracy, crack her mother’s murder, and find out for sure if she really is Sherlock’s daughter. Dougray Scott stars as Holmes’ nemesis, Moriarty. It will be a light crime series not overly dark so that it can air in prime time around the world.

Primitive War arrives soon to cinemas

We have a trailer for  Luke Sparke directed fantasy action thriller PRIMITIVE WAR with Jeremy Piven, Tricia Helfer, Ryan Kwanten, and Nick Wechsler. An adaption of Ethan Pettus’ novel follows a squad of soldiers in 1968 who discover that dinosaurs have been let loose in the jungles of Vietnam. The recon unit known as Vulture Squad is sent to an isolated jungle valley touncover the fate of a missing Green Beret platoon, only to discover they are not alone. Anthony Ingruber, Aaron Glenane, Carlos Sanson Jr, Ana Thu Nguyen, Adolphus Waylee, Richard Brancatisano, Marcus Johnson, and Jake Ryan also star in the film which is coming soon to the cinemas.

Angel Studios has released a trailer for their new historical action movie TRUTH AND TREASON which will open in cinemas October 17th starring  Rupert Evans, Ewan Horrocks, Ferdinand McKay, Daf Thomas and Sean Mahon. Originally enivisoned as a series but then turned into a movie, it revolves around Helmuth Hüebener, a 16-year-old boy whol forms a resistance group with his friends Karl and Rudi after witnessing the arrest of his Jewish friends by Nazis. The straightforward task rapidly devolves into a perilous game of cat and mouse, when the merciless leader (Santoro) of a notorious crime syndicate sets his sights on claiming the organ for himself.

STAR TREK SEASON 3 TEASER IS HERE

It seems it's been years since the second season, but Paramount + promises the third season of STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS science fiction series is finally arriving sometime this summer although we still do not have the official date set yet. They did release today a teaser announcing what we can expect from the new season. It is interesting that the fourth season is currently in production over in Canada. 

 

IN THE BRAND NEW SEASON

 Anson Mount returns as Captain Pike at the helm of USS Enterprise in the conclusion of season two’s scary battle with the Gorn which ended with a cliff hanger. Now, new life and civilizations await the crew, including a villain that will test our characters’ grit and resolve and take characters both new and beloved to new heights, and dive into thrilling adventures of faith, duty, romance, comedy, and mystery, with varying genres never before seen on any other Star Trek. As you can see there will be a retro murder mystery aboard the ship which will also see the return of Paul Wesley as James T. Kirk. Rebecca Romijn, Ethan Peck, Jess Bush, Christina Chong, Celia Rose Gooding, Melissa Navia all return as regular crew members, alongside guest stars Rhys Darby, Patton Oswalt,and Carol Kane. The series will again stream on Paramount Plus and in some parts of Europe on SkyShowtime. Beside the fact that one of the episodes will see the crew of Enterprise turn Vulcan, we also know that Cillian O’Sullivan will be joining the new season as a recurring guest star, playing the legacy role of Dr. Roger Korby, a renowned archaeologist and scientist known for his groundbreaking work in the field of medical archaeology. Martin Quinn, as a young version of future Enterprise chief engineer Montgomery Scott will also be a regular now.

I told you last month that BBC is working with Catherine Shepherd on TWO WEEKS IN AUGUST thriller series that tells the story of a woman who goes on holiday to Greece with her family and friends to rediscover joy in her life. Zoe begins to act on her deepest desires and the holiday she hoped for becomes a reckoning for a group of adults who refuse to grow up. But when they discover they are trapped on the island, and become faced with real life-or-death situations, the group soon turn on each other to find out who is to blame. Now we know that Jessica Raine will star as Zoe, Damien Molony as her troubled husband Dan, Nicholas Pinnock as their old friend Solomon and Antonia Thomas as his new wife Jess, alongside Leila Farzad and Hugh Skinner as uni friends Nat and Jacob.

We are getting yet another TV series based on Arthur Connan Doyle's famous detective hero Sherlock Holmes. Harry King Television will start production on TRUE SHERLOCK next January with Oli Higginson already cast as Sherlock and Will Kemp as Moriarty. Based on Nicholas Sercombe’s book series The Unexpurgated Adventures of Sherlock Holmes this new series will depict the origins of Holmes, Watson, Mrs Hudson, and Professor Moriarty. Sercombe will also be the showrunner!

Last month I announced that Sam Worthington will lead Netflix TV series adaptation of Harlan Coben's I WILL FIND YOUas David Burroughs, an innocent father serving a life sentence for the murder of his own son, a crime he didn’t commit, yet a tragedy he punishes himself for every day. When David receives evidence that his child may still be alive, he must break out of prison to find out the truth. Now we know that Milo Ventimiglia has joined him as a man from prominent Boston family who finds purpose in working for his family’s philanthropic foundations. Britt Lower, Logan Browning, Erin Richards will also star as a reporter, an FBI investigator, and as David's ex wife, a pediatric surgeon. Jonathan Tucker will play his best friend.
